|Melissa Davis has performed with numerous regional opera companies including: Nightingale Opera Theatre, Opera Cleveland, Opera Columbus, Akron Lyric Opera, Canton Comic Opera, The Ohio State University Opera, and Kent State University Opera. She has performed internationally as a member of the Opera Studio at the American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) in Graz, Austria, and as a Young Artist at the Asian International Opera Festival, in Taipei, Taiwan. She has also performed as a Young Artist at the Sugarcreek Symphony and Song Festival in Watseka, Illinois, and as a Company Member at the Huron Playhouse in Huron, Ohio. Ms. Davis received a Bachelor of Music degree and a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Kent State University. She received a second Master's degree in Vocal Pedagogy along with a Singing Health Specialization Certificate from Ohio State University. Ms. Davis has taught voice at both Ohio State University and Kent State University. She currently serves on the voice faculty at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, and Kent State University at Stark in North Canton, Ohio. Working to create performance opportunities for local opera singers, Ms. Davis is the creator and Artistic Director Nightingale Opera Theatre in Northeast Ohio.
