|Soprano Ann Elise Giancola performs in opera roles, theater productions, and choral settings alike. She previously appeared with Nightingale Opera Theatre as a Young Artist in The Elixir of Love, for which she performed the role of Giannetta and covered the role of Adina. In pursuit of her interest in oratorio performance, Ms. Giancola sang the role of Piacere in Handel's early oratorio, Il trionfo del tempo, in concert at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Baltimore, MD. She has performed with the Canton Players Guild Theatre as the dreaded nanny, Miss Andrew, in Mary Poppinsand as the title character in a stage adaptation of popular children’s book, Miss Nelson Is Missing! Other favorite roles include Drusilla in L’incoronazione di Poppea, Anna Maurrant in Street Scene, Jenny in Stephen Sondheim’s Company, and Susannah in Carlisle Floyd’s opera of the same name, which she performed in 2012 under the baton of Grammy Award-winning conductor William Boggs. In 2011, Ms. Giancola won First Prize in the National Association of Teachers of Singing competition, both at the Great Lakes Regional and the Ohio State levels. She received a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance, magna cum laude, from Capital University. A recipient of the Fanny B. Thalheimer Memorial Scholarship, she completed her Master of Music degree in 2014 at the Peabody Conservatory, where she studied with Steven Rainbol.
