Street Scene by Kurt Weill was Nightingale Opera Theatre's debut performance in June 2012, with stage direction by Laura Portune Cordell. Performed at the Akron Art Museum the cast included Diana Farrell (soprano), John Pickering (baritone), Rachel Morrison (soprano), Kyle Kelvington (tenor), and Amy Malyuk (piano).
Nightingale Opera Theatre returned to the Akron Art Museum in March 2013 for two, one act operas, also with stage direction by Laura Portune Cordell. The Scarf by Lee Hoiby starred Diana Farrell (soprano), Timothy Culver (tenor), John Pickering (baritone), and Judith Ryder (piano). The second opera, Orpheus and Eurydice by Ricky Ian Gordon, starred Lara Troyer (soprano), Daniel Gilbert (clarinet), and Donna Lee (piano).
In August 2013, Nightingale Opera Theatre performed Jules Massenet's Werther at Solon Center for the Arts. Stage director Fenlon Lamb set this unique interpretation in the 1950's. The cast included Stephanie Foley Davis (mezzo soprano), Timothy Culver (tenor), Brian Keith Johnson (baritone), and Melissa Davis (soprano) with music direction by John Simmons.
